TMS Inspiration Days, the “strategy, market trends, technology” conference, is over. It was the second time that it was organised. The event took place 7-8 April, in Cracow, and was attended by representatives of the translation industry from 21 countries of Europe and North America. This year's edition featured splendid lectures and an extremely friendly and inspiring atmosphere.

For many years, LIDO-LANG has been providing specialised technical services in the area of translation processing, among them Desktop Publishing (DTP), database compilation, and glossaries, just to name a few. Now, we are expanding our offer to include PDF file conversion.

LIDO-LANG has been consistently continuing its development strategy, as selected in 2010, in which this time it is particularly focussed on expanding its skilled production department. In the last few months, 7 people have joined the LIDO-LANG team, 6 of which are to support the production department.

In its business practice, LIDO-LANG follows the principles of ethics and local community. As far as its social activity, LIDO-LANG concentrates most of all on supporting young peoples’ potential and involvement in interesting cultural initiatives. This time, LIDO assisted in an international enterprise: the production of Maja Burduli’s newest documentary entitled “Righteous among the Nations”

There are only 4 months left until the TMS Inspiration Days 2011! Therefore, we encourage everyone to get acquainted with the conference programme. The topics of the presentations and lectures include, among other things, the review of Machine Translation tools, creating effective sales departments, development strategy planning, XTRF workshops, and many other inspiring issues. The lectures will be given, among others, by Don DePalma, Renato Beninatto, or Bob Donaldson.

From 16 November, on the conference website you can already register for the second edition of the event. TMS Inspiration Days 2011 will take place 7-8 April in Krakow, and its motto will be: Strategy, Market Trends, Technology.

On 4 September 2010, LIDO-LANG Technical Translations underwent another certification audit of the ISO 9001:2008 standard. As usual, the audit was successfully completed.

As of September 1, 2010, XTRF Management Systems Ltd. initiated its business activity. The company was authorised by the owner of the XTRF™ brand (LIDO-LANG Technical Translations) to manage the distribution of the management system for translation companies and corporate translation departments.

The conference, which is organised by ASLIB (The Association for Special Libraries and Information Bureaux) in London, will be the 32^nd meeting devoted to translation and computer technology issues. During the conference, Andrzej Nedoma – Lido-Lang Technical Translations Managing Director - will give a presentation on work management in the XTRF-TM system.

All the participants of this year’s Tekom-Trade Fair (2-5 November, Wiesbaden, Germany) are invited to Hall no. 4, stand no. 453 and 445 in order to meet the representatives of XTRF™ and LIDO-LANG.
