Services » Interpretation
Interpretation services aim to ensure quick and efficient communication between several parties. It is crucial that interpreters possess the correct specialist knowledge and can easily and smoothly adjust to the pace and nature of the conversation.
Each time LIDO-LANG provides interpretation services, we carefully analyse the topic and circumstances of the meeting in question. We then choose only those professionals who have the correct subject knowledge and have the interpersonal skills to make contacts easily. As a result, the interpretation that we offer thereby guarantees the mutual understanding of all the parties involved.
We offer interpretation services during events such as:
- business meetings and negotiations
- business trips
- conferences and congresses
- presentations
- training sessions
We provide the following interpretation services:
Consecutive interpretation: the interpreter begins to translate when the speaker has finished a particular part of their speech. In order to ensure an exact translation, the interpreter usually takes brief notes. In the case of consecutive translations, only the most important parts of the message and the essence of the speech are to be translated.
Liaison interpretation: the interpreter converts the speech sentence after sentence, which is similar to consecutive interpretation, but the chunks that are translated are significantly shorter (one to four sentences at once). As a result, the translation is more detailed, the interpreter does not have to take notes and the entire speech is easier to follow for the audience.
Simultaneous interpretation: in order for this to be carried out properly, specialist conference equipment needs to be utilised. The interpreter works from a soundproof cubicle, has no direct contact with the speaker and can only hear them through the headphones. As a result, the translation is carried out nearly at the same time as the speech (with a maximum delay of one sentence). In the case of simultaneous interpretation of a discussion, the interpreter is usually responsible for the particular language combination, which means that when they hear a speaker use language A, the translation is carried out into language B and vice versa. The conference interpretation requires two interpreters, working from two separate cubicles, to allow each of them to take a break every 15-20 minutes.
Whisper interpretation: is a type of simultaneous interpretation carried out with no special equipment. The interpreter works nearby the audience and quietly translates the words of the speaker. Whisper interpretation is used when there is a relatively small group of people from the audience who need help in understanding the presenter.
