LIDO-LANG Technical Translations was founded in 1991 in Krakow, but its history dates back to the 1940s and 1950s.

	Back in those days, after World War II, Józef Nedoma, then a Chemistry student at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, started to work as a science and technical translator. After graduating from the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics at the University of Science and Technology, he became a Professor and continued to develop his passion for languages. His knowledge and fluency in seven languages enabled him to successfully work as a sessional translator.
	Jerzy Nedoma inherited his father’s passion for languages and started working on technical translations in the late 1960s. At that time, however, the Polish political situation did not allow individuals to open private businesses in the field of translation. Therefore, it was not until twenty years later that Jerzy Nedoma, together with his wife Barbara, set up LIDO-LANG Technical Translations in 1991.
	Six years later, their son Andrzej Nedoma, a graduate of the Faculty of Management at the Krakow University of Science and Technology, joined the family business. Andrzej’s fluency in three Western European languages, an MSc degree and a fresh perspective on company management matters were a great asset to LIDO-LANG. With many new initiatives, our company started a journey of international growth and development.

Since then, LIDO-LANG has continued to extend the scope of services offered. We have taken part in numerous international translation conferences and exhibitions. Our company is a member of many influential translation industry and business organisations including being the co-founder of ELIA and the exclusive Polish representative in the European Consortium of Translation Companies, EULOGIA. 

In 2004, we started working on the exclusive translation management system – XTRF™. It quickly became one of the leading translation management tools and is now being used by many translation companies worldwide.
